We love conference weekend in our family! It is so nice to have a full weekend of uplifting messages from the leaders of our church and to feel the spirit from their words. We especially love conference weekend at our house because of all the family that comes together. We were totally planning on going to Cedar Hills for conference at the Dearinger home base. Thursday night we packed everything up and Friday morning I was to pick Spencer up from campus where we would then immediately take off for his parents' home.
Unfortunately it just didn't work out that way. Thursday night our sweet girl woke up and was having a really hard time breathing. We scheduled a doctor appointment Friday morning and the doc told us that we were gonna have to lay low so that she could fight the virus before it could get into her lungs.
We were really sad that we weren't going to be able to be with the family, but we made the best of it and ended up having a really great time.
These are some pictures from Friday. My poor, sick baby still looked so happy and despite the obvious discomfort was so good-natured about it all.
We call this dress thing Maggie's Candy-striper outfit.
Just chillin in the bumbo, not really sure if she has the energy to hold her head up at the moment.
Watching Conference - Elder Bednar's talk was apparently fascinating :)
She was so intent :)
So excited for his cinnamon roll!
So even though our beautiful daughter is still a bit under the weather, she is definitely doing better and we hope that she will be over by the middle of the week. And even though we couldn't be with the whole extended family, what could be better than weekend focused solely on my husband and daughter while watching conference? I loved it! We really enjoyed our time together and I especially enjoyed the spirit that general conference brought into our home as we watched all 4 sessions as a family. What a great blessing it is to have the leaders of our church today! I'm so grateful we got to listen to their counsel and look forward to learning from them again in 6 months.
Maggie is so dang cute! We're excited to have our baby around for the next Conference! Glad all is well and Maggie is on the mend!
