More School Pictures

School vacation, equivalent to our summer break starts at the end of next week, and somehow our program has worked out perfectly with their school schedule. We just finished teaching Y to the kids today, leaving us with only Z to teach and then a very large review day. This means we only have 2 more days of school... I honestly don't know what to think. Part of me wants to jump for joy because we actually finished the first part of ABCs and All of Me - and the other part of me wants to drag it out for the next couple weeks - not let the kids go on vacation and keep teaching until we leave. But I guess all good things come to an end sometime. I'll look on the bright side though and remember all the fun we had and enjoy the last two days in the classroom.
Here's some more fun pictures!

Me with the first class outside doing the sensory learning. The little girl holding my hand insists on running all the way from her house (the house just behind my back) every time she sees me out there, just so she can stand there holding my hand and watching all the kids write their letters in the dirt and with rocks. It's so cute!

Our second class hugging hippos and getting ready to itch the insect bites.

"Put a penny in your pocket"

Outside with the second class.

On this day a bunch of the classrooms came out on break before I was done with the last group outside - so when I gathered the kids to go over the song with me a couple times I also ended up gathering about 3 other classes with them. It was really fun to watch all of them try to sing along with our class.

Whether I'd like to admit it or not, I'm definitely going to miss these classes. Even on the hard days when they're all over the place and completely unmanageable, it's hard not to love them and laugh at their funny little quirks. So although I've never ever wanted to be a little kids' teacher, it's been a great experience for me to understand the rewards that come from teaching them. Although they may act like little pills sometimes, they are all so cute and precious I just want to squeeze them. It's so easy to laugh at them and so hard to get mad at them when they know they're in trouble and give that suck-up smile. It really just makes me want to laugh.
So although I was skeptical at times about whether or not I really wanted to teach while I was here, I am so glad I did! Good times! Fun kids!
