When we got there it really was startling how much higher the river has gotten. Usually when going down to the riverside you have to go down a rather steep slope right here and you don't get to the water until the end of those bushes on your left. Pretty incredible!
Being at a little body of water, Spencer wanted to do what most boys would have done - skip rocks. Surprisingly there weren't many rocks right where he was, so he had to go searching. As I stood at the bank of the river, watching him search for rocks I noticed the beautiful sunset behind him and needed to take a picture :)
I have this love-hate relationship with cameras. They capture the moment and allow me to remember special little things - like a randomly beautiful sunset and my wonderful husband standing in front of it. It was a great little moment for me (cheesy, I know) but at the same time, I hate that the picture is never AS beautiful as the actual thing. But you take what you can get huh? You just had to be there.
We actually got one of the splashes on film! Sad day that you can't see the awsome skipping that followed - but I think it's fun anyway.
I love this man! I thank our Heavenly Father every day for letting me be here in Africa with him. What an amazing experience this has been and I wouldn't change the lessons we've learned and the ways we've grown closer together for anything in the world.
